 Services We strive to provide our patients with the latest, state of the art advancements in dental technology and services. Our office is completely digital, including low-radiation digital x-rays, intra-oral digital cameras, and paperless patient charts. All of our dental sealants are "BPA free", and we are also a "mercury free" and "latex free" office. Dr. Thompson provides a wide range of dental services including composite (white) fillings, gold fillings and crowns, porcelain fillings and crowns, bridges, implants, veneers, Invisalign and other cosmetic dental treatment, nightguards and anti-clench guards, concussion mouthguards, medical grade snore guards, extractions and root canals. CONCUSSION MOUTHGUARDS: We know that as a parent of a child playing any sport these days, concussions are always a concern. As a service to our community, we are proud to offer custom fitted, concussion mouthguards at our cost for all local athletes! Concussions are one of the leading sports related injuries, and have received much media attention lately due to an increase in research and awareness within the NFL. Custom fitted concussion mouthguards provide greater protection for concussions, as well as trauma to the mouth, even if your child is wearing a helmet. Our guards are easy to make, will fit over braces, and can be made for a child of any age. They stay in place during contact and are easy to breath and talk with. FREE TEETH WHITENING FOR LIFE PROGRAM As a patient of our office, we are happy to provide you with free teeth whitening for life as long as you are a patient here! After you come in for your initial exam, x-rays and cleaning, we will provide you with a take home whitening kit. Each time you come in for your 6 month cleaning, as long as it has not been longer than 7 months since your last visit and your account is current, we will give you free touch-up trays. We are often asked about laser teeth whitening, or "in office" bleaching. Dr. Thompson has done extensive research in this area and has found that laser whitening is not the best option for her patients. It has been known to cause extreme pain and/or teeth sensitivity for an extended period of time, sometimes up to 6 months. Consequently, you can get the same result in 5 days from a take home whitening kit than you can in a 1 hour in office session, with minimal to no sensitivity. We are committed to providing you with the best treatment options for your oral health, and we strongly believe we provide the best option for teeth whitening. INVISALIGN We are pleased to announce we have been PREFERRED INVISALIGN PROVIDERS for 2010, 2011, and 2012! Invisalign makes it easy to straighten your teeth without the use of bands, brackets, or wires. In fact, virtually no one will know you're even wearing them. Because aligners are removable, you can continue to eat your favorite foods, while brushing and flossing normally to keep your teeth and gums healthy. SNORE GUARDS If you, or your significant other, are having a hard time sleeping at night due to snoring, sleep apnea or often problematic CPAP machines, talk with Dr. Amy about a custom, adjustable snore guard that is worn in the mouth while sleeping. The appliance holds the lower jaw forward, preventing the tongue and soft tissue of the throat from collapsing into the airway. The purpose of the appliance is to prevent snoring and sleep apnea, and thereby improving the health and quality of life for people who suffer from sleep-disordered breathing, as well as their loved ones! The appliance is very easy to make, and is typically covered by your medical insurance. Our office is also one of very few local offices that accepts Medicare for this treatment.
